A considered approach

Colour temperature & colour rendering

Do not choose by a colour-temperature number alone. Compare samples with the planned timber, stone, upholstery and finishes. Ask for colour-rendering data and colour consistency information, particularly for fittings seen together in long corridors or repeated rooms. Dimming may also change the appearance, especially with warm-dim products, so assess daytime and evening settings before approval.

What matters here

  1. 01

Review colour temperature across adjoining spaces

  2. 02

Compare material samples under actual fittings

  3. 03

    Keep replacement specifications consistent

What to include in your brief

Bring the material palette and ask for a side-by-side lighting sample.
