Do not select an outdoor fitting solely because it has a high IP rating. Ask the manufacturer about salt exposure, fasteners, coatings and the maintenance regime. Sheltered locations can still accumulate salt. Coordinate mounting and drainage details with the installer and avoid material combinations that the manufacturer advises against. Keep the exact finish reference in the replacement schedule.
